Aeronautical Engineering

Aerospace engineering is the primary field of engineering concerned with the development of aircraft and spacecraft. It has two major and overlapping branches: aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering. Avionics engineering is similar, but deals with the electronics side of aerospace engineering.

Why study Aeronautical Engineering?

Courses in aeronautics prepare candidates for jobs in the field of aerospace and aviation. These courses help candidates in becoming air traffic controllers and maintenance technician as they get hands-on experience on aircraft manufacturing, mechanics, and engineering.

What does Aeronautical Engineering study as classes?

Aeronautical engineering topics you may cover in the first and second years include: introduction to aerodynamics, introduction to structural analysis and courses in dynamics and control, structures and materials, aircraft design, aircraft performance, computing, electronics, fluid mechanics, statics, …

What is the job description of an aeronautical engineer?

Aeronautical engineers design, construct and operate aircraft, aerospace vehicles and propulsion systems. An aeronautical engineer needs a sound understanding of the mathematics, physics, computer science, materials science and design philosophy to apply their skills in a variety of important areas in the global aerospace industry.
